Positive Impacts of the Coronavirus and Travel

How the Coronavirus has helped travel improve now and hopefully well into the future...

The travel industry has suffered greatly as a result of the coronavirus this year, but there are quite a few positives that have developed, which will ultimately benefit travelers now and hopefully in the future:

  • More Flexibility: airlines and hotels are providing greater flexibility for changes and cancellations. Major airlines are permanently removing change fees for certain destinations such as the U.S., Mexico and some Caribbean destinations. Hotels have also relaxed their cancellation policy with some hotels allowing cancellations up to 24 hours prior.

  • Contactless Service: many airlines and hotels have moved to most, if not complete, automation through contactless service. This not only provides a cleaner and safer alternative to previous practices, but it improves efficiency too!

  • Greater Cleaning and Safety Protocols: masks may or may not be here to stay long-term, but better cleaning and sanitation protocols are! Airlines and hotels have had to invest money and time into completely revamping and improving the process for cleaning and disinfecting, providing a safer and cleaner environment for customers.

  • Customer First Policy: the customer is the main priority, not the business. Right now travel is all about building consumer confidence, which means practices that provide clean and safe environments, efficient and customer-focused practices and all-around greater flexibility for the customer.

Additionally, travel agents are travelers' best friends and will continue to play an important role now and in the future of travel. We help keep travelers on track by informing you of current travel restrictions and travel requirements for each destination, offering travel insurance that will protect you and your vacation investment, and providing assistance through every step of the process.
