In March, I had the opportunity to visit a brand new, adults only, all inclusive resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico. After all of the hype for the opening of this new resort, my expectations were high. To say that I was not disappointed is an understatement. I was truly blown away by the beauty of this resort and all it offers. This resort would be a great option for couples wanting unique experiences, both on and off the resort, with all food and beverages included as well as select spa treatments, salon services, excursions and golf included as well! This resort is truly redefining the all inclusive concept.
The casual luxury, authentic Mexican theme is immediately apparent as you walk through the doors. You are greeted by these unique light fixtures hanging from the ceiling in the lobby and the natural tones that are throughout the resort.
Everywhere you look, there are unique fixtures, art pieces and decor that make this resort truly unique. Each hallway and walkway brings a feeling of calm and serenity due to the beautiful use of space, light, natural surroundings and water features.
Your vacation will not be complete without a visit to the spa at Unico 20 87. Certain spa and salon treatments are included in your package and are unlimited. All you have to pay is a 20% service fee for each service. For example, if you get a massage that is valued at $180, all you pay is $36 plus a nice tip for your masseuse who is going to have you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Another perk is that you get to enjoy the gorgeous spa facilities which are alone
worth the visit.
Each restaurant is unique as well and some have a beautiful, quaint outdoor seating area that overlooks the resort grounds and/or water. The restaurant below is Cueva Sieta:
"Named for the seven origin caves of Mayan Mythos, Cueva Siete—or Cave Seven—derives its inspiration from all that is Yucatecan. This regionally focused concept aims to harness the mysticism and reverence of Mayan culture, serving dishes deeply rooted in Mexican flavors and traditions. Cueva Siete is unique as a strong, chef-driven concept where the chef will be rotated every so often. First to take the reins is former Top Chef Mexico contestant, Christian Bravo with a distinguished take on both familiar, and lesser known, Mexican dishes." Unico 20 87
Open for dinner 6:00pm to 11:00pm
With 5 unique restaurants, 5 bars, and 24 hour room service as well as in-room minibar with beverages and refreshments, you will never be lacking for food or drinks! The best part is that it is all included.
Most accommodations have some type of water view, so there are no bad room categories here either. If you are in a swim up room, you will have direct access to a semi-private pool right outside of your room. All other rooms will have a spa tub on the balcony or terrace with a partial view or direct view of the ocean.
A few things guests love most about these rooms is that each room comes with a set of locally handmade hats, soft sweatshirt material robes, and a bar with premium liquor, beer, juices and soft drinks. Truly a step or two above other adults only, all inclusive resorts.
From the balcony of some of the rooms, guests can get an aerial view of the expansive pool areas for lounging and playing. The main pool areas are in the center of the resort but there is a quieter, smaller pool area off to the side of the resort for those who want a little less activity and more relaxation.
