Destination Weddings: A Guest's Point of View

One of my destination wedding couples was fortunate to have a very talented friend at their wedding who created the following video of his experience as a guest of the wedding AND a vacationer in the destination. I was given permission to share this video and I think it sums up perfectly what guests of a destination wedding want out of the experience:

1). Witness the beautiful union of their friend(s) or family member(s)

2). Find fun activities or tours to enhance their experience in the destination

3). Create their own vacation memories as well as share experiences with the bride and groom and other guests

So, how did this bride and groom help their destination wedding guests create an unforgettable travel experience?

1. They selected an all-inclusive resort that made it easy and convenient for guests to budget for their travel expenses - their flights, airport transfers and accommodations (which included all meals and beverages, including alcoholic beverages) were paid for prior to travel. Additional expenses once they arrived could include tours, spa treatments, souvenirs/gifts etc., but these expenses were optional and left to the discretion of each individual guest.

2. They organized a private catamaran cruise for all of their guests the day after the wedding, which allowed everyone to relax and have fun together while creating amazing memories in the process.

3. They worked with a travel agent (me!) who specializes in destination weddings and group travel. I provided information about the destination, including recommended tours/activities, prior to travel. They left prepared with an idea of different experiences they may want to have during their trip to make the most of their time in the destination.
